It's my birthday! SEVENTEEN, magic age.
I got a whole lot of yarn, I want to make this.
I ate sausages and beans at noon, went to the dentist, watched a DVD with Bart & Roeland. We watched The Prisoner, one of the best series of all-time. We ate Pringles, the magic cupcakes and the cookies my friend made me. Then I went to eat with some 30-ish people at my nature organization. It was fun, and good vegetarian food again. Rice and vegetables, basically.

I saw the boy I'm in love with that I can't have. It's killing me, I've never been in love before.
Ah well...I got a lot of nice phonecalls. At home, because I don't have a cellphone. Never had one, don't feel like having one.
I'm a REBEL.

All my love goes out to my friend Laura. What better birthday present than food?
She actually made me the cupcakes I was dreaming of! She read my mind...
They were vanilla, in red cups, with pink and white icing and with little marzipan roses and leaves on top,
or candy hearts, sprinkles, ... They looked like they came right out of a fancy book.
Plus she made me these lovely cookies with one layer of crust (I love crust), one layer of dulce de leche (caramel-stuff) and one layer of chocolate. An explosion of taste in my mouth! I love dulce de leche. It's very popular in Brazil and Argentina. I always ate it for breakfast in Uruguay...I wish I was there.

Yesterday was like a dream! We gave presents to bus drivers and we drew pedestrian crossings with chalk on the ground.
I went to the snack bar (anything fried, really) and ate there with two boys. Then we went to Anton's house to play Trivial Pursuit and Boggle until two in the morning.
Anyways:
- I lost both games.
- I got hugs because of the grasshoppers
- They talked about my breasts
- I love Boggle, I can play it for hours!
- I have a social life! Congratulations to me.
- I got really crappy birthday presents. Pieter gave me a keychain and Anton gave me a crayon.
- The keychain is really cool though!

Ah, nothing better than a list to freshen things up a little...
I'm going to continue crocheting my cassette cover.

Love to all of you!

The neighbours woke me up this morning. They woke me up with loud voices, or actually one loud man's voice cursing a lot. At first, I thought my mom was fighting with some guy. That happens sometimes, but rarely. So I got out of bed to go and defend my mom, which is slightly odd, because I hate her. My mom was in my sister's room, where she could have a better listen at what was going on. She seemed all sorts of excited because the neighbours were fighting. I sigh. $

They're over 60, shouldn't they be living happily ever after if they're still married at that age? I guess not.

Well, I'm working on the B-side of my cassette tape. It's for this bearded friend:

I hadn't washed my hair for over a week and I had a sunburn. Look how I'm holding on to that pot! But still, good leftover vegetarian food.
I finished side A. B is a lot harder for me because I don't have a real theme, but I want him to get to know some really good music. Still I want to put some classic songs we sang at camp on it, but I can't overdo it or he'll be totally disappointed.

Tracks that will definitely be on it:

M. Ward - Chinese Translation (Post-War)
Jackson C. Frank - Dialogue (Blues Run the Game)
Sigmatropic - Haiku Fourteen a and b (16 Haiku)
Simon & Garfunkel - El Condor Pasa (If I Could) (Bridge over Troubled Water)
A song by Lovage
A song by The Books

My friend Laura will be baking cookies for me tomorrow, she's the best :)
http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/cupcakes I want these, but they'd be too simple for her. She's an expert, and so is her mom. But she promised me chocolate.

I hope I can make some friends here.

Hello, I want to talk. Are you there, like-minded person?

I'm making a mixtape about birds for a tapetrade with friends.
Tracklist side A:

1. Andrew Bird - Imitosis (Armchair Apocrypha)
2. Eels - I like birds (Daisies of the Galaxy)
3. Adam Green - Bluebirds (Friends of Mine)
4. Department of Eagles - Sailing by Night (The Whitey on the Moon)
5. M. Ward - Sad, Sad Song (Transfiguration of Vincent)
6. Herman Düne - Two Crows (Switzerland Heritage)
7. Johnny Cash - Bird on a Wire (American Recordings)
8. Nick Cave - To Be by Your Side (Le Peuple Migrateur)
9. Yo La Tengo - Tiny Birds (Summer Sun)
10. Camille - Baby Carni Bird (Le Fil)
11. Sufjan Stevens - The Lord God Bird
12. Andrew Bird - Skin is, my (The Mysterious Production of Eggs)

I like it though I think track 6 and 9 are not as strong as the rest of it.
Filling side B with birds would be a bit too difficult and would probably destroy the quality. I'll fill up the B-side with songs he needs to hear and with some random bird sounds thrown in. I'm crocheting a cassette cover, I hope that works out. I've never seen one, it's my very personal idea. I'm crocheting a little bird to go with it too. It's red, and I finished crocheting. I only need to assemble the pieces and I'm done.
Suggestions on artwork/presentation of tracklist etc. are always welcome. Not that I'm expecting any, I don't know anyone who has livejournal and I haven't met anyone here. If you read this, you can leave a comment.
